Records and Registrar

Full records for each student's academic progress are kept and can be sent to other institutions.  Transcripts are kept using the standard 4.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).  Separate transcripts are kept for elementary, middle, and high schools.  Elementary transcripts are recorded as pass/fail, where passing is an "A" and failing is an "F".  Middle and high schools will be recorded as standard GPA scales.

GPA Calculations

GPA is a number that represents the average value of grades students earn in their courses. The current earned semester and cumulative GPA is always accessible on a student’s transcript.

Below is a table of the points one receives for each grade.

B - 80-89.9% - 3.00 per credit

C - 70-79.9% - 2.00 per credit

D - 60-69.9% - 1.00 per credit

F - 0-59.9% - 0.00 per credit

Asbjørn Academy Credit Calculations

To help prepare our students for college and improve calculations our credits are calculated based on the educational standard of 50 minutes per credit hour (a course that requires 200 minutes of class contact per week would count for 4 credit hours; i.e. 4 credits).  Most of our courses are between 3-5 credits.

Arizona credit standard is to reward 1 credit per year per full year course.  The comparison is a 1:4 ratio between Arizona credit and Asbjørn Academy credit.
